Hello and welcome to my blog site.
This site is geared towards providing more insight on my mentorship experience with the YMCA Lakeshore Facility and the City of Hazel Park's Community Center here in the Metro Detroit, MI area. I will provide weekly posts in the appropriate journal pages that I hope to be informative and eventful.
Thank you for viewing this site and ENJOY!!!!!!!
Melissa (Mel) Liggins - Youth Sports and Enrichment Programs
My name is Melissa Liggins but I'd prefer Mel. I am a graduate student at Tiffin University, enrolled in the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program, with a concentration in Sports Management. I am looking forward to my program completion date in December 2014. I obtained my Bachelors of Science Degree from Wilberforce University in 2004; just up the road from Tiffin.
As a native, "home-grown" of Detroit, MI, I have always enjoyed the arts and sports. As a young child I participated in field softball, beach volleyball and dance. As I grew older, I directed my dedication to the art and sport of dance. I went on to later win medals, trophies and receive awards for outstanding performances.
As an adult, I taught and will continue to teach, various dance genres: ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop and more. As time progresses, I plan to turned my interest towards advancing into more of the recreational sports and enrichment programming.
